Advancements in the technology behind fast cars is virtually unstoppable with the industry growing at a great space. Enzo Ferrari brought about the first brand of fast cars way back in 1929, leading the way for other manufacturers to emulate Ferrari's design. The company has a great record in Formula One racing and has continued to fascinate the world with different variants of sports cars and world class drivers like the inimitable Michael Schumacher in its stable.
Ferrari's F430 is one of the most popular twin-seater sports cars with a price tag of $161,000. The SuperAmerica hardtop convertible priced at around $300,000 with a V-12 engine and a transmission similar to the F-1 version is another big seller in the US. The hardtop roof is made from carbon fiber and electro chromic glass, enabling it to be converted from a coupe to an open-air sports car in an instant. The extraordinary designs from Ferrari have made their line of sports cars not only super performance cars but hot favorites among sports car enthusiasts.
Priced at around $800,000, among the top favorite sports cars to compete in the 24 Hours of Le Mans is the Leblanc Mirabeau. With top speeds of over 230 mph and a powerful Koenigsegg engine that spits out 700 horsepower, the Mirabeau is definitely one of the mean machines available today.

The biturbo V12 engine that delivers 612 bhp to send the Maybach 62 Landaulet speeding at 170 mph or more makes the car one of the most desired although it may not be the fastest. Very few cars can match up to Maybach when it comes to luxury. The 62 Landaulet also has a glass partition separating the driver and passengers.
Extraordinary designs, modified engineering, and lightweight construction, are all important aspects of modern fast car development technologies. Of course, there is the Chevrolet Corvette, Dodge Viper, and Porsche Carrera that are dream and mean machines as well.
